Camp Mission & Philosophy:
Summer camp is much more than simply a place for kids to get away from home, meet new friends, and have fun. It provides children with a community of caring adults who help build self-respect and a safe environment where a kid can be a kid. Camp Jewell YMCA sets the highest standards in resident camping through programs that match the interests and abilities of each camper. Our desire at Camp Jewell YMCA is to create a place where friendships can grow and people can learn.

What factors set this camp apart from other camps?
Camp Jewell is focused on ensuring that campers become part of a dynamic camp community that fosters independence, skill-building, and imparts positive values. Each summer we create an exciting camp culture that has a positive and lifelong impact on our young campers. We intentionally develop a diverse camp community where your camper can meet children and staff from many backgrounds. We teach campers to be independent and challenge them to try new activities-all while having a healthy dose of fun!

Additional Details: Our buildings are winterized and are designed for year-round use, they have central living rooms, bedrooms, and bathroom facilities. Our leadership programs

Additional Meal Options: We are able to accommodate almost all food restrictions/allergies

Additional Details: We have a varied and healthy menu, we eat the majority of the meals family-style except for lunch which is a buffet. We can accommodate almost all dietary restrictions. We do not typically serve pork products in the summer.

Medical Facilities

Number of Medical Staff Living On-site: 3-4 nurses

Additional Information: We are building a new state of the art health care center this summer, the cloests hospital is under 30 minutes away, urgent care less than 20. We have 3-4 nurses on site at all times.
