Have knife skills. Actual experience prepping and chopping vegetables. Approximate shifts: 8:30am – 2:00pm, 4:00pm – 7:30pm. Duties include, prepping of fresh produce and other salad bar items using the salad bar list as a guide. Prepping of all dressings and condiments, stocking of salad bowls, rotation of salad bar items, cleanliness of containers used on the salad bar, the cleanliness of the work area including the produce sink, floor and work tables, the monitoring and restocking of all salad bars during service, removal of spilled items on the salad bar or on the floor during service, the breakdown of the salad bars after service and the cleanliness of the salad bar carts, responsible for the organization of opened dressings, condiments in the cooler and on the shelves. Communicate with the receiver for any needed items before service. Salad Bar Assistants may be called upon to help in the kitchen with special salad prep or in the production of hot meals.
Food Service Assistants are responsible for helping in many different areas – a few areas are listed here. Some duties include: Serving meals & drinks, tables clear and set, assisting with passing out dessert, maintaining the soup, cereal or salad bars. You will assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room and tables and surrounding areas of the dining room. You will be trained in these areas once you get to camp. We look for staff members that are flexible and willing to help out in all areas with a great work ethic and great attitude.
Special Utility position is a combination position in the area of Food Service. Cleaning responsibilities in the kitchen may include: sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning sinks, grills, salad bars and steamers, polishing stainless. Assist in dish room. Prep duties may include: assist baker, chef and salad bar staff as well as make lunches for events at camp, assist with cook-out and daily grill. May be asked to help with receiving. You will be trained in these areas once you get to camp. We look for staff members that are flexible and willing to help out in all areas with a great work ethic and great attitude.
Dish room attendants are responsible for the cleanliness of the dish room, dishwasher, dish room floor, counters and walls. Other duties include washing, rinsing and sanitizing of all kitchen utensils, pots and pans, sorting kitchen utensils and returning them to the correct location. DRA’S may be called on to help during busy times in the dining room. Assisting with trash during breakfast or assisting with table set up is also a primary duty. You will work in our Housekeeping Department as a member of a team. Job duties include the following areas: maintaining the cleanliness of all buildings on the property, including but not limited to: program areas, cabins and cabin areas, public restrooms, shower houses, offices, health centers, and private living facilities. Will maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area. May be assigned other related duties as assigned. Will also assist in the laundry room, washing sheets, towels and clothing. Need drivers license for driving around camp.
You will work in our Maintenance Department as a member of a team. Job duties include the following areas: repair of Buildings, Facilities, Equipment, and Grounds. Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at Camp Laurel including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting tasks; may assist with moving furniture and equipment at various times; set up and break down camp events. Maintaining the grounds involves mowing lawns; weed whacking, tree trimming, etc. You may also be involved in collecting trash/garbage around camp and disposing of it. Will maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area. May be assigned other related duties as assigned. This job is primary an outside job. Should be patient and easy to communicate with. Should know how to follow instructions, but at the same time should be confident enough to give instructions to the campers. Should know how to teach what they learn. Should be interested in culinary arts. Should be interested in teaching and/or getting their hands dirty. Should know that the job implies cleaning too.
