How far is the nearest town to camp and what transport options are available for? Is there a cost for transport?
Camp Airy is approximately one hour from Washington, DC and Baltimore. Frederick is very close to Camp Airy and has restaurants, movies, and shopping. We have vans that will take Support Staff team members on time off opportunities throughout their time at camp – at no cost.
What do Support Staff do in their free time at camp?
During free time, support staff can choose to go to the pool, work out in the gym, run, or hang out in one of the common areas at Camp. We set up special time during some evenings for support staff to experience some of the activities at camp – including go karts, skateboarding, and more!
List any additional benefits offered/arranged by camp for staff.
Each week the time off vans will go to a different location – Washington DC, Baltimore, Frederick, Gettysburg, and more! Additionally, during our break between camper sessions, Camp Airy pays for all Support Staff to go to Hersheypark for a great day of fun at a theme park!
Do you offer the possibility of post-camp work? If yes, for how long?
There may be some limited opportunities for post camp work. At this point, the positions are Camp Louise – but if additional people are needed, we may use the pool of Camp Airy staff to assist.
