Kitchen Assistant

Working in the kitchen has a variety of job duties including; Food prep (mixing, chopping, ect.) Food service, dish washing and cleaning the dining hall. This is a fast-paced environment where teamwork is a vital component to our success. We feed 600 people three meals a day… breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Maintenance

The maintenance team has the responsibility of the overall upkeep of the buildings and grounds of Camp Laurel South. General yard work; mowing, raking leaves, timing trees are part of the daily routine. Trash removal, painting, watering the flowers are part of the duties throughout the summer. Most of the work is outside so be ready to work rain or shine!

House Keeping

General cleaning of main buildings, bathrooms, shower houses and public areas are the responsibility of the Housekeeping staff.  Mopping floors, cleaning windows, up keep of toilets and showers are part of the normal day as you ride around camp on a golf cart. Enjoy working with a team to keep camp clean!

How far is the nearest town to camp and what transport options are available for? Is there a cost for transport?

25 minuets to Windham 45 to Portland. No cost for transportation for off camp trips. Camp provides transportation on all days off and some nights off each week.

What do Support Staff do in their free time at camp?

Support staff can enjoy the staff lounge at nights that has Wi-Fi, TV with Netflix and a snack bar. During the day some staff will play tennis, go for a swim or use a Paddle board or kayak on the lake. As long as there is not programing going on at that time.

We offer multiple trips during the summer that are available to all support staff. Support staff will have the opportunity to go to amusement parks and other group trips each of their days off this summer. Each day off is a trip to a different city/location around Maine/New Hampshire.
